Falling
Lorne/Zelenka. I have a serious soft spot for Lorne/Zelenka, and I think she gets their voices very nicely. I really like the detail of setting, too, as their acquaintance slowly builds and becomes more. Spoilers through 3×12.

I don’t actually like the song much, and at nearly 5 minutes it’s (IMHO) far too long, but the clip choices (and, er, partner choices) for each verse are brilliant, and the storyline is fabulous and funny. I mean, John/Kolya! John/Zelenka! John/Bimbo Of The Month! There’s even a flash of John/Hermiod, for crying out loud!
Sheppard/McKay, Sheppard/Dex. Rodney’s got a crush on John, and he’s jealous of Ronon. The Ronon section was just yay.
The Opening (McKay/Beckett, Sheppard/various implied, R)
Balancing Act (McKay/Beckett, McKay/Sheppard, NC17)
Series of short stories. Atlantis is a Manhattan restaurant, and McKay is the chef, a demanding and neurotic diva with a crush on the bartender, Sheppard. This AU reminds me a bit of Lalejandra’s publishing AU, except it has fewer in-jokes and is therefore more accessible. Well-written and witty, with clever casting choices. The stories read more like parts of a WIP than as separate stories; in particular, the first story doesn’t really end but just trails off at an odd point, with a suggested plot that doesn’t materialize in the second story (but the author promises more of in the future). The canon allusions are wonderful, and I wish there were more of them.
Rodney/Ronon. I’m not a fan of forced marriage slash stories, which usually strike me as just plain weird, but this one is plausible and cleverly done. Part of its appeal to me, I think, is that it’s not a first-time (even though I love first-time) - Rodney and Ronon already are in a relationship (I believe that Hth’s Thirteen O’Clock, which is I also rec, is a prequel to this) and getting married both forces them to confront their relationship, and forces the others in Atlantis - particularly John - to confront it as well. The story is told through Rodney’s and John’s POVs, and it’s both sweet and sad, as one realizes the depth of his affection for his partner and teammate, and the other feels cut off and abandoned when his teammates pair off together. Although there’s a bit of plot involving aliens and secret technology, it’s really a McGuffin - the relationships make up the story.
Laura Cadman-centric, het, slash, and femslash elements. Full disclosure: I beta-read (and Ameri-picked) this story. And it’s really nifty: it’s Laura Cadman’s narrative during the events of Duet (although this story doesn’t so much fit within canon as much as it bends around canon), while she’s in McKay’s body. The Cadman-voice is a lot of fun, and watching her view of McKay change as she gets to know him better is satisfying. And the ending? Wow.
It’s hard to list pairings for this story for two reasons: several pairings are only hinted at, and some of them it would spoil the story to know in advance. Let me just say that the characters are Cadman, McKay, Brown, Zelenka, and Beckett, and most of the possible pairings among them are at least suggested in this story.
Ronon/John, Ronon/F, John/Rodney. An incredible Ronon character piece written for the Seven Deadly Sins challenge at sga_flashfic, this consists of 7 pairs of vignettes, each pair dealing (sometimes elliptically) with one of the deadlies in one year as a Runner and the corresponding year in Atlantis. Overall it builds up a remarkably deep portrait of Ronon and his relationships with others. The other characters are all beautifully drawn as well. Very highly recommended.
SGA/HP, Ronon/Rodney, John/Sirius. This isn’t really a story so much as it is a vignette, a set-up that doesn’t really go anywhere, but it’s awfully cute, the characterizations are good, and it pays homage to my own SGA/HP crossover, so, yay!
Rodney discovers that Ronon can get him into the mess hall after hours. It’s sweet and funny - I love stories in which one character thinks they’re dating and the other one is clueless - and there is an amazing bit of cleverness about the Atlantian clock that had me awestruck.
Zelenka/Weir, Zelenka/Dex. Great structure and an interesting metaphor. I don’t normally like no-dialogue introspective stuff like this, but it’s short enough to hold my interest, and the exploration of why and how Radek loves who he does is very cool.
Lorne/Parrish. Casspeach has written the sequel to her lovely little Perimeter, and it’s just as lovely. I am a sucker for misunderstandings and those hot, sweet first times where neither man is quite sure that his feelings are reciprocated as they fumble toward a relationship.
McKay/Zelenka. I beta-read this story, so the author addressed what I perceived as flaws in the original story, bringing it closer to the sort of thing I like. It’s an established-relationship story, which isn’t my thing, and actually the sex is not what I like about it. The emotional arc is what’s important here, as Radek comes to understand Rodney better. And the ending gives me a giggle.
McKay/Zelenka, PG13. I don’t normally like stories that are low on dialogue and high on character-study, but this has a nice rhythm to it and it seems very true to how I imagine Radek.
Why isn’t there more Ronon/Rodney? This is a PWP with satisfying characterization.
McKay/Zelenka; another one of the stories I read and loved shortly after getting into SGA.
